Hi There, I'm Helen

I'm presuming you're reading this as you're looking for a way out of the chronic persistent pain cycle you've found yourself in.

I studied Solution focused hypnotherapy at the Clifton practice, where I soon realised after I completed the training that I wanted to specialise in the relief of chronic pain that persists for three months or longer. I delved into the subject to gain insights into the most up to date training, and the science behind it.

A truly fascinating subject.

This led me to Pain Reprocessing Therapy [PRT] an approach that looks at the neuroplasticity of the brain and the connection between our state of mind and the pain we feel. I also use the Emotional freedom technique [tapping] another science backed modality that is known to work particularly well for stress and anxiety as well as numerous other issues.

With these tools we will explore the complexity of pain together.

If you would like to embark on this therapeutic adventure with me and play detective, gathering insights into, and exploring the pain fear cycle; please get in touch.

If your pain is as stubborn as a cat who won't move from your favourite chair by the fire, or as fleeting as the British sunshine, I'll work with you to regain the life you desire.

My Approach

Welcome to a journey of transformation and healing. My approach is centred around a Solution-Focused method, designed to empower you to problem solve, generate new ideas, and take confident steps towards the life your desire. By integrating Pain Reprocessing therapy, We use somatic tracking to help you stay present, observing the sensations in your body with a sense of curiosity and kindness.

Mindfulness and compassion are at the heart of our work together. If you're grappling with uncomfortable feelings, we can ease them using the Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping). Together, we will explore, learn, and embrace your experiences with compassion and curiosity, paving the way for lasting change and a more fulfilling life.

What Is Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) And How Will It Help

Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) is an innovative approach rooted in neuroscience, designed to help individuals overcome chronic pain by retraining the brain to reinterpret pain signals. By utilising the brain's natural ability to rewire itself known as neuroplasticity, PRT combines mindfulness, somatic tracking, and emotional freedom techniques to transform the way the brain processes pain.

Testimonials

I started seeing Helen regarding persistent lower back pain about 6 weeks ago, having had no success with all the usual options for treatment. After a thorough consultation, I attended my first session whilst in a fair amount of pain on the day. Helen talked me through the process, and I had the treatment with little hope of any immediate change. At the end of the first session, I was really pleased to have had a reduction in my pain there and then. Helen taught me a technique to use at home, which I made special time for on about four occasions during the first week. I went into my second session already feeling significantly less pain. Again, after a second session, I felt a further reduction in pain, so I continued with the process at home through the second week. By my third session, I was more mobile/active and feeling much happier in general, being in little or no pain most of the time by now. Another session and I no longer feel pain, only an occasional sensation of tension. Now I understand a little of why and how this process works I am able to make time to use this process, especially if I know I am going to be busy/stressed/anxious, as this is when this technique is at its most helpful. I see Helen now from time to time, but I can manage any tightness before it becomes anything more. I haven't had any actual unexplained pain for weeks now.
I am so pleased I saw Helen for this ( I'm an open-minded person, but I didn't know if the treatment plan would even work for me), I'm more mobile than I have been for quite some time, and feeling much happier in general as a result. Thank you so much Helen.
